12-01-1972 Work Session MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL WORK SESSION December 1, 1972 A work session was called by the Council for Friday, December 1, 1972, at 4:00 p.m. , at the Village Hall, to discuss some current Country Club business and the receipt of a report from the Police Department. The following Council members were present: Mayor Elwood Jones Dean R. Claus sen Raymond L. Clement Mrs. Marjorie A. Dunn Howard J. McLaughlin Absent: None The Village Manager was also present and the Country Club Manager and Finance Director were in attendance part of the time. Golf club storage rate - An increase was requested by the Golf Pro on the rate he charges for golf club storage. The Village Manager was instructed to handle this administratively. Shoes and cleaning for the Police Department. The Village Manager reported that this allowance is in the budget. The Council agreed that those officers who had already received the shoes would receive the allowance ($50. 00 a year) less the cost of the shoes already paid for. Country Club Manager. Mr. George Oestreich reported on his arrangements with Bob Etheridge, Assistant to the Manager. Also, that starting January 6th there would be dinner and dancing every Saturday night, choice of eight different entrees and 12/1/72 -2- there is a full wine list now in effect. Mr. Oestreich stated that the 15% service charge started on that day, with some grumbling from the waitresses. Police report. The report entitled"A LIST OF REQUESTS TO BE PRESENTED NOVEMBER 21, 1972 BY THE MIAMI SHORES POLICE AND FIRE DEPART- MENTS " was discussed. Concerning the Police communications the Village Manager stated that the Chief has a list of new equipment they want which we can buy through the County and pay them with the money we have in the budget. Mr. McIntyre was also instructed to check with El Portal and find out what is going to happen to that equipment and if they are still paying us a monthly fee for our equipment. Concerning the radio equipment for cars, the Manager was instructed to get cost figures and send out a report on this. The personnel benefit requests were discussed. It was finally suggested that the Council review these requests further and give their opinions on them to the Manager. Letter to the Villagers. After some additions were suggested for the proposed letter to be sent to the Village residents, the Manager was instructed to mail it out.
