Dunn Howard J. McLaughlin Absent: Raymond L. Clement Dean R. Claussen Mr. John W. McIntyre, Village Manager, was also present. Citizens present were Mike Khoury, Bill Mercer, Carl Paulsen and Jack Fitzgerald. Subsequent to the meeting held on August 2, 1972, at the Community Center on Fire-Rescue, Mayor Jones called this meeting for the purpose of determining how to handle donations made by citizens for equipping a rescue vehicle. Discussion followed concerning suggestions for establishing a non-profit organization to be run by a Board of Directors or Trustee, or for setting up a bank account in the name of Miami Shores Village Emergency Rescue Trust Fund. Mrs. Dunn stated that she didn't think that this fund should come under the Village business, that it should be set up by private individuals in the Village. Mayor Jones stated that those attending the meeting on August 2nd were very enthusiastic about the rescue vehicle. It was Mr. Mike Khoury's 8/4/72 -2- suggestion that the Council should decide that this service is necessary and then let the city provide it with contributions to assist in the purchase of equipment. The Mayor asked that this be put on the agenda for the first meeting in September. Mrs. Dunn asked that the Village Manager get cost figures from other areas operating these vehicles including personnel necessary to man the vehicle. The meeting adjourned at 4:35 p. m.
