02-22-1972 Special Meeting SPECIAL MEETING
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL
February 22, 1972
A special meeting of the Miami Shores Village Council was held
at 4:00 o'clock p. m. , February 22, 1972, at the Village Hall, with the follow-
ing Council members present:
Mayor Elwood Jones
Mrs. Marjorie A. Dunn
Howard J. McLaughlin
Absent: Raymond L. Clement
Dean R. Claussen
Mr. John W. McIntyre, Village Manager, and Mr. Thomas H.
Anderson, Village Attorney, were also present.
The first business to be discussed at the request of Councilman
McLaughlin was in regard to the purchase of a new turf truckster which was
deferred at the last Council meeting. Mr. McLaughlin stated he had talked
with the greens foreman and learned that the Cushman was the only type of
truckster that was adapted for attachments that are used with it and had
sufficient horse power to handle the load. It was also pointed out that while
the purchase of a new truckster is pending certain work on the greens cannot
be done. Mr. McLaughlin then moved that the Council accept the low bid
on the Cushman truckster. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Dunn and
carried.
After reviewing the report prepared by the Village Manager on
Section 404 of the Zoning Ordinance, it was the consensus of the Council that
the latest amendment as prepared by the Village Attorney was the best

regulation possible. Said amendment is as follows:
"No building shall hereafter be erected, nor any existing
building be structurally altered, except in conformity
with the regulations regarding space and area as set
forth herein, provided that the minimum plot width and
area regulations shall not apply to any platted lot having
less than the required width of 75 feet where permanent
improvements have been erected on both side lots con-
tiguous thereto, and such lot is owned by someone other
than the owners of the side contiguous lots. "
This amendment will appear on the unfinished business of the
agenda for the next Council meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 4:50 p. m.
