MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL
September 20, 1971
The Miami Shores Village Council held a public hearing at the
Miami Shores Country Club on September 20, 1971, at 8:00 p. m. , for the
purpose of reviewing with the public the proposed budget for the fiscal
year beginning October 1, 1971. The following Councilmembers were
present:
Mayor Elwood Jones
Raymond L. Clement
Mrs. Marjorie A. Dunn
Absent: Dean R. Claussen
Vacancy
The Village Manager and department heads were present as
well as approximately 32 Village citizens.
The meeting was opened by Mayor Jones followed by an invocation
given by Councilman Clement.
The Mayor reviewed the estimated revenues and the proposed
appropriations as listed for each department.
In regard to the recreation budget Mr. Jack Blair asked about a
tennis program for children which was generally agreed upon by the Council.
Mr. Petrey stated it would cost in the neighbor of $1800. 00.
In discussing the Club budget it was pointed out that John Cusano's
contract should be rewritten. The reduction in tournament expense was noted.
The meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
