A proposal was made for changing the hours of sale of beer and
wine for consumption off the premises so that stores primarily selling other
products will be permitted to sell beer during the hours. they are open. The
Council instructed that an ordinance be written amending our hours of sale
of beer and wine for grocery stores, but felt they should not be more liberal
than those of the adjacent cities.
Mr. Blue, on behalf of the tennis committee, stated that his group
is still interested in the plan for tennis courts at the Country Club. It was
the committeels recommendation that the Village Manager secure actual
quotations, on the work for budget preparation but defer construction of the
courts until after the surr►Tr*er season.when court construction is over up north.
He stated that if we have the actual quotations and if it is possible to get the
money, then they will go ahead and get the architect to draw final plans.
Discussion followed as to how this tennis club might work in with the
contemplated tennis program at the Community Hous-e. It was then moved by
Mr. Walker that we get bids on the cost of constructing the building and courts,
and put in the tentative club budget the necessary financing to get the project
started. Motion was seconded by Mr. Saxon and passed unanimously. The
