JOINT MEETING OF MIAMI SHORES
VILLAGE COUNCIL AND VILLAGE PLANNING BOARD
November 5, 1959
A joint meeting was held of the Miami Shores Village Council
and the Planning Board on November 5, 1959, at 7:30 P. M. , with all
members of the Council and the Planning Board present. Also in attend-
ance were the Village Manager, Mr. Markel, Building and Zoning
Director and Mr. Bradford, Assistant Director.
This meeting was called for the purpose of reviewing zoning
matters that are not specifically covered in the zoning ordinance.
(1) Outside entrances to bedroom additions - It was decided
to leave it as is, reviewing each application for an outside door and to
use discretion in approval.
(2) Pool setbacks - A majority of those present agreed on the
following setbacks to be enforced: 10 ft. side setback to wall of pool with
screen at 7-1/2 ft. ; rear setback 5 ft. with alley, and screen 2-1/2 ft.
from alley; without alley, rear setback 7-1/2 ft. with screen at 5 ft.
(3) Accessory building setbacks - to be left as is.
(4) Church requirements - No area requirements to be
adopted. Parking will be one space for each three seats as called for in
other zones.
(5) Radio towers in side yards - Prohibited by zoning
ordinance.
(6) Outside compressors - Adequately covered by Building
Code.
(7) Pool fences on waterfront - No change to be made in
present zoning.
The meeting adjourned at 9:40 P. M.
