July 28, 1959
The Miami Shores Village Council held a public hearing at the
Village Hall on July 28, 1959, at 7:30 P.M. , for the purpose of reviewing
the tentative budget for the fiscal period beginning August 1, 1959 and ending
September 30, 1960. The following Councilmen were present:
Mayor Dean R. Claussen
Spencer W. Rudnick
Michael J. Franco
John F. Saxon
Joseph H. Walker
The Village Manager and the Finance Director were also present,
as well as 13 citizens.
Mayor Claussen reviewed all items of the Village budget and the
Golf Course budget.
The following comments were noted:
Mr. F. A. Kalil, 10108 N. E. 1st Ave., thought the Village Manager
should be paid more money.
Mr. R. T. Knowlson, 32 N. E. 91st St. , asked if there was some
way to get a street light in the middle of his block. The Village Manager
reported that this light had been held up because the easement could not be
secured. Mr. Knowlson also asked that the alley to the west of his property
be paved, or at least the approach to it.
Mr. William H. Leonard, 1275 N. E. 93rd St. , asked if the Village
could do something to alleviate the standing water condition in a vacant lot to
the east of his property.
