02-17-1959 Regular Meeting 19 REGULAR MEETING MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL February 17, 1959 A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Council was held at 4:00 o'clock P. M. , February 17, 1959, at the Village Hall, with the following Councilmen present: Mayor Michael J. Franco Dean R. Claussen Spencer W. Rudnick M. E. Reynolds Absent: John F. Saxon Mr. Thomas H. Anderson, Village Attorney, was also present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were approved by motion made by Mr. Rudnick, seconded by Mr. Reynolds and passed unanimously. A proposal was made by the Finance Director to change the monthly audits of the bar and dining room at the Club to a quarterly audit. Before any action is to be taken on the proposal, the Council felt that this should be discussed with the auditors and that a perpetual inventory be kept. The Village Manager had received two bids on flood lighting the tennis courts at the Community House, one in the amount of $4337. 00 and the other, $3985. The Council took this proposal under advisement. Mr. Anthony Salamone of 830 N. E. 91st Terrace, was present to appeal the Planning Board decision denying him a permit to construct two more apartments in a building behind his residence. After discussion, Mr. Claussen moved that we sustain the action of the Planning Board in denying this request. Motion was seconded by Mr. Reynolds and passed unanimously. 2® 21 -2- 2/17/59 In regard to the legislative meeting of the Florida League of Municipalities to be held in Jacksonville next Saturday and Sunday, Mr. Reynolds moved that Mr. McCall,�nd) Mr. Claussen and Mr. Anderson attend the Florida League meeting. Motion was seconded by Mr. Rudnick and passed unanimously. Concerning a proposal to make certain revisions in the Village Pension Plan, Mr. Claussen moved that we employ Mr. Hirsh to re-evaluate the Plan based upon the suggestions made to him by Mr. McIntyre, with a maximum fee of $500.00. Motion was seconded by Mr. Reynolds and passed unanimously. It was decided that no Charter amendments could be made this year inasmuch as there was not sufficient time for notice before the Village election in April.. The meeting adjourned at 5:10 P. M.
