08-19-1958 Regular Meeting 54 REGULAR MEETING MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL August 19, 1958 A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Council was held at 4:00 o'clock P. M. , August 19, 1958, at the Village Hall, with the follow- ing Councilmen present: Mayor Michael J. Franco John F. Saxon Spencer W. Rudnick M. E. Reynolds Absent: Dean R. Claussen Mr. Thomas H. Anderson, Village Attorney, was also present. Upon motion made by Mr. Rudnick and seconded by Mr. Saxon, minutes of the meeting of August 5th were unanimously approved as written. Minutes of a special meeting of August 11th were also approved as written by motion made by Mr. Rudnick, seconded by Mr. Saxon and carried. Mr. Saxon moved that Miami Shores Village be host for the next monthly meeting of the Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police. Motion was seconded by Mr. Rudnick and passed unanimously. ° In regard to the paving and drainage of N. E. 91st Terrace, the Village Manager reported that we now have 24 signed approvals out of 36 and that all property owners affected by both drainage and paving have agreed to pay the cost. Mr. McCall reported further that he had a bid of $7735 from :O. W. Collins to do this work. Mr. Saxon moved that we proceed with the necessary paving and drainage on a special assessment basis, in accordance with the Village Manager's report. Motion was seconded by Mr. Rudnick and passed unanimously. 8/19/58 It was reported that application had been made to the Planning Board for permit to install a Laundromat at 8851 Biscayne Blvd. on which approval was withheld because of a lack of a quorum at the last meeting. After some discussion Mr. Reynolds moved that the application for a Laundromat at 8851 Biscayne Blvd. be granted subject to the approval of the Planning Board with regard to public health and aesthetic appearance. Motion was seconded by Mr. Rudnick and passed unanimously. The Village Manager reported that a discussion of settlement would be held with the Flood Control District next Thursday at 10:00 K.M. The Council next discussed the proposal to build a truck and auto inspection station at the Village nursery. The Village Manager reported that the estimated cost for building this station is $26, 000, and that the location has been approved by Mr. Duchin of the County Manager's office, the Sheriff and the County Manager. After some discussion of where this station should be located on the property, Mr. Saxon moved that we proceed with the excavation for the proposed truck and car inspection station at the Village nursery subject to approval of the final plans by the Council and Dade County.
