05-20-1958 Regular Meeting REGULAR MEETING MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL May 20, 1958 A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Council was held at 4:00 o'clock P.M., May 20, 1958, at the Village Hall, with the follow- ing Councilmen present: Dean R. Claussen John F. Saxon M. E. Reynolds Absent: Michael J. Franco, Mayor Spencer W. Rudnick Mr. Thomas H. Anderson, Village Attorney, was also present. In the absence of Mayor Franco, Mr. Claussen was asked to take the chair. Mr. Reynolds moved that the minutes be dispensed with and approved as written. Motion was seconded by Mr. Saxon and passed unanimously. A recommendation was made by the Planning Board to permit the construction of two houses on Lots 10 and 1.1, Block 1, Hamilton Terrace, by refacing the lots to create two 72 x 106 ft. plots. After some discussion, Mr. Saxon moved that the recommendation of the Planning Board in regard to paragraph one be approved. Motion was seconded by Mr. Reynolds and passed unanimously. The Village Manager made a report on the bids for four new Police cars which were as follows: 5/20/58 -2- SPITZER MOTORS $6,091.00 plus the old cars DON ALLEN CHEVROLET 7,498.00 " if It McGAHEY PLYMOUTH 6,636.56 it If TROPICAL CHEVROLET 7,2+14.04 " It it " The Village Manager further reported acceptance of the low bid. Mr. Reynolds moved that the action of the Village Manager be approved in ordering four Police cars from .Spitzer Motors, to be paid for in next year's budget. Motion was seconded by Mr. Saxon and passed unanimously. In regard to a previously discussed resolution concerning the widening of the 6th Avenue bridge, the Village Manager read a letter from the County Engineer in which County plans were listed for the widening of the bridge and paving of 6th Ave., 103rd Street and a portion. of N. E. 2nd Avenue. In view of this letter the Council decided it would not be necessary to pass a resolution concerning the bridge.
