REGULAR MEETING
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL
November 5, 1957
A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Council was held at
4:00 o'clock P. M. , November 5, 1957, at the Village Hall, with the following
Councilmen present:
Mayor Charles D. Bailey
John F. Saxon
Michael J. Franco
Dean R. Claussen
Spencer W. Rudnick
Mr. Thomas H. Anderson, Village Attorney, was also present.
Upon motion made by Mr. Claussen, seconded by Mr. Franco and
passed, minutes of the last regular meeting were approved as written.
The first business considered was a problem of trash collecting in
a corner of the Bay, and the Council received a proposal prepared by Mr.
T. K. Hodges, engineer, to erect a 700 ft. wooden barrier wall across and
in front of the right angle corner of the Bay at approximately 100th Street.
Mr. Jerome Hofmayer requested that the Council erect this wall at Village
expense since the Village is spending about $100. 00 per month hauling trash
and debris from this corner and that the wall would divert the trash and the
monthly expense eliminated. Several neighbors spoke on the subject, some
in favor and some opposed. Mr. Claussen moved that the Council take more
time to consider and investigate such .i barrier and delay any action. The
motion was seconded by Mr. Franco and carried 4 to 1 with Mr. Rudnick
dissenting.
Mr. Rudnick then moved that the Village employ an engineer to con-
sult with Mr. Hodges to see if they can come up with some solution which will

N. E. 2nd Ave. , that a parking time limit be established at that address
effective after 6 P.M. because of theatre patrons using all the parking spaces.
The Council ordered that the Police Department survey this matter and that
a report be submitted at the next meeting.
The Council received a proposed ordinance changing truck route
regulations from 20, 000 GVW to not to exceed a rated capacity of two tons,
carrying state license plates GK and GL or CV. Mr. Claussen moved the
adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 282. It was seconded by Mr. Franco and
passed unanimously, same being entitled:
