PUBLIC FEARING
on the
PROPOSED PENSION PLAN
November 19, 1956
A public hearing was held at 8:00 P. M. , November 19, 1956, at
the Miami Shores Country Club, for the purpose of explaining to the Village
citizens the details of the proposed Miami Shores Village employees, pension
plan. The following Councilmen were present:
Mayor Dean R. Claussen
Michael J. Franco
S. D. Phillips, Jr.
William E. Carpenter
Mr. C. Lawton McCall, Village Manager, Mr. Anderson, Village
Attorney, and Mr. Louis Hirsh, insurance actuary, were also present, as
well as, approximately 40 Villagers.
Mayor Claussen opened the meeting and explained that, in accord-
ance with the notice sent out to all Villagers, this meeting had been called
for the purpose of discussing the Pension Plan to be voted on Tuesday,
November 27th.
All phases of the plan were discussed and questions answered.
Everyone present appeared to be unanimously in favor of a pension plan but
several of the Villagers voiced their opinion that the proposed plan was not
adequate.
The meeting adjourned at 9:30 P. M.
