MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL
July 25, 1956
The Miami Shares Village Council held a public hearing at the
Miami Shores Country Club on July 25, 1956, 8:00 P. M. , for the purpose
of reviewing the tentative budget for the fiscal year beginning August 1, 1956.
The following Councilmen were present:
Michael J. Franco
M. E. Reynolds
William.E. Carpenter
S. D. Phillips, Jr.
Absent: Mayor Dean R. Clausseu
The Village Manager and Finance Director were present, as well
as, approximately 70 Villagers.
In the absence of Mayor Claussen, Mr. Franco opened the meeting
and informed those present that although the budget was higher than last
year's, there would be no increase in takes, due to additional tax money from
new construction and other increases in revenue.
All items of the Village.budget were reviewed. Additional money
was suggested for the Recreation Department and on the Country Club budget,
the swimming pool chairman asked for a larger appropriation and a new caddy
house was requested by the general chairman.
Approval of the budgets was given by those present and a vote of
confidence extended to the Council.
The meeting adjourned at 9:40 P.M.
