12-07-1954 Regular Meeting 213 _ REGULAR MEETING MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL December 7, 1954 A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Council was held at 4:00 o'clock P.M. , December 7, 1954, at the Village Hall, with the following Councilmen present: William E. Carpenter Michael J. Franco Dean R. Claussen Absent: Mayor S. D. Phillips, Jr. M. E. Reynolds Mr. Thomas H. Anderson, Village Attorney, was also absent. In the absence of Mayor Phillips, Councilman Carpenter was asked to take the chair. Minutes of the last regular meeting were adopted as written by motion made by Mr. Franco, seconded by Mr. Claussen and passed unanimously. Police car bids were received from the following companies covering eight and six cylinder cars with and without trade in value: Ben McGahey, Inc. Tutan Motors, Inc. All Miami Motors, 16c. Christopher Motors Laramore-Neese, Inc. Don Allen Chevrolet Inc. Monroe-Zeder, Inc. Tropical Chevrolet Inc. T. B. McGahey Motor Co. After the bids were opened and tabulated Mr. Claussen moved that we Wrn these bids over to Chief Senneff for his recommendation. The motion was seconded by Mr. Franco and passed unanimously. Some of the Villagers from the area of N. W. 2nd Avenue and 95th Street were again present to ask about the traffic light they had requested. 214 215' 12/7/54 -2- Chief Senneff reported that the County is going to make a traffic survey at this location but he felt it was rather discouraging from the standpoint of getting aid from the County. He further reported that he had erected a stop sign to slow up the traffic. To further the cause the Chief advised the people to contact Jesse Yarbrough in this regard. After a review of the bills, Mr. Franco moved that they be approved. Motion was seconded by Mr. Claussen and passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 4:40 P.M. Deputy Cle APPROVED: Mayor 216
