for $40. 00 a month. It was decided that Mr. Vetter, Treasurer for this
organization, should be invited to appear at the next Council meeting to
explain this fee, terms of the contract, etc. and the Village Manager was
instructed to notify him.
The next item on the agenda was in regard to the Coast Cities
bus schedules. It was learned that there still is a possibility of getting the
Miami Transit to resume its old lines into Miami Shores and the method of
accomplishing this was discussed. Mr. Carpenter suggested sending out a
questionnaire in the Village Bulletin to determine whether or not the present
bus service is unsatisfactory and how it can be improved. The Mayor thought
we might be able to work out a solution with the owner of the Coast Cities
Bus Company and Mr. McCall stated the bus company has wanted for some
time to have a meeting so that they could tell the cities in North Dade what
their plans are. It was also pointed out that they have not paid their license
fee since July 1951 and Mr. McCall stated their attorney said they didn't have
to pay this. The Council asked the Village Attorney to check into this and have
the data ready for a meeting with the representative of the bus company.
Mr. Richard Seip appeared before the Council to petition them to
enforce the nuisance ordinance in regard to noisy air-conditioning units next
to his home. The Village Manager was instructed to call the owner of these
faulty air-conditioning units, ask him to have them fixed and if he does not,
then have the Police Department speak to him.
Concerning the monthly bills, Mr. Carpenter moved they be approved.
