REGULAR MEETING
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL.
March 4, 1952
A regular meeting of the Village Council of Miami.Shores Village,
Florida, was held at 7:30 o'clock P. M. , March 4, 1952, at the Village Hall,
with the following Councilmen present:
Mayor M. E. Reynolds
William E. Carpenter
S. D. Phillips, Jr.
Absent: George A. Frix
Michael J. Franco
Mr. Thomas H. Anderson, Village ,Attorney, was also present.-
Upon
resent.-Upon motion made by Mr. Phillips, seconded by Mr. Carpenter and
passed unanimously, reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting was
dispensed with and they were approved as written.
Mrs. Gladys Perry of 17 N. W. 106th Street, appeared before the
Council in regard to her Homestead exemption for 1952, which.the Council has
granted in the past few years as a hardship case. Mr. Carpenter moved that
Mrs. Perry be granted Homestead exemption for 1952 as requested. 'Motion
was seconded by Mr. Phillips and passed unanimously.
The next business of the evening was a review of the request by
Mr. Edward Fitzgerald to construct a residence on Lot 18, Block 11, Pasadena
Park, - a 50 ft. lot. The Village Manager was instructed to contact the neighbor-
ing property owner, Mrs. Sharp, who was present at the meeting, to see if she
would be willing to sell 25 ft. of her land. Mrs. Sharp stated she slid not wish

to sell any land, nor did she wish to purchase Mr. Fitzgeraldrs lot. Mr. James
Taintor, a neighbor, was also present and pointed o4o the Council that, accord
ing to his calculations, a house of 17,500 c. ft. could not be put on that lot with-
out breaking down the established setbacks. Mr. Fitzgerald stated he could
design a house that would meet all setbacks as well as cubical content. After
further discussion, Mr. Carpenter suggested that Mr. Taintor leave his exhibits
with the Council and that action will be deferred on the petition until there is a
full Council:present.
In regard to Item 3 on the agenda, - a letter from_E. V. Stewart
offering to put on square dances at the Community Mouse for $30.00 an evening,
the Council suggested that this be referred to the Entertainment Committee at
the Golf Course.
After a review of the February bills, Mr. Carpenter moved that
they be approved. Motion was seconded by Mr. Phillips and passed unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
