08-07-1951 Regular Meeting 109 REGULAR MEETING MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL August 7, 1951 A regular meeting of the Village Council of Miami Shores Village, Florida, was held at 7:30 o'clock P.M. , August 7, 1951, at the Village Hall, with the following Councilmen present: Mr. George A. Frix Mr. Michael J. Franco Mr. William E. Carpenter Mr. S. D. Phillips Absent: Mayor M. E. Reynolds Mr. Anderson, Village Attorney, was also present. Mr. Frix officiated at the meeting in the absence of the Mayor. Upon motion made by Mr. Franco, seconded by Mr. Phillips and passed unanimously, minutes of the following meetings were approved as written: Regular Meeting of July 17, Public Hearing of July 24, Equalization Board Meetings of July 25 and 26 and a Special Meeting of July 26, 1951. A proposed ordinance was read amending Section 2 of Ordinance No. 156-A concerning sidewalk maintenance. Upon motion made by Mr. Phillips, seconded by Mr. Franco, ORDINANCE NO. 222 was unanimously passed and adopted, same being entitled: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 156-A, ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY OWNER OF ANY PROPERTY IN MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE CONTIGUOUS TO ANY SIDEWALK TO ALLOW SUCH SIDEWALK TO BE OR REMAIN IN A DANGEROUS CONDITION AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICE TO SUCH OWNER OR MAKE REPAIRS BY SAID VILLAGE AND CHARGE THE REPAIRS .AGAINST SUCH OWNER AND FOR VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE. " 11 ® Ili -2- E/7/51 Mr. Stanley Turner of 653 Grand Concourse, appeared at the meeting to petition the Council to do something about the poor drainage on Grand Concourse. He stated that the well in the street is not doing the job and that the water stands in front of his house from 72 to 96 hours after a rain. The Village Manager stated that he did not have the engineer's report on this condition as yet. It was suggested that this report be available at the next meeting. Mr. Phillips brought up the subject of passing an ordinance to pro- hibit trucks from using residential streets. Mr. Anderson explained that this had been discussed many times before but that no ordinance had been decided on that could be enforced. The last item on the agenda was in regard to Mr. Ellis' petition to rezone Biscayne Blvd. Mr. Ellis had requested to be heard at this meeting. After waiting until 8:05 and he still had not appeared, the meeting was adjourned by motion made by Mr. Phillips, seconded by Mr. Carpenter and passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 8:05 P. M.
