PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED BUDGET 1950-51
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL
July 259 1950
The Miami Shores Village Council held a public hearing at the
Miami Shores Country Club at 8.00 P.M., July 25, 1950, for the purpose of
reviewing the tentative budgets for the fiscal year beginning August 1,
1950. The following Councilmen were present:
George A. Frix, Mayor
M. E. Reynolds
Roy Mackenzie
Michael J. Franco
Absent: William E. Carpenter
Mayor Frix opened the meeting and explained to those present,
totalling about 40 Villagers, that a review would be made of the Village
budget and the Golf Course budget at this meeting and that although the
Village budget showed an increase over last year's, the taxes would be
reduced by one mill, principally due to the revenue derived from the cigarette
tax. He further stated that the amount of the Library budget was fixed by
the Charter as being allowed only one mill of tax income.
After discussing each item on the proposed budgets which were
accepted by those present and there being no objections, the meeting adjourned
at 11:15 P.M.
