03-16-1948 Regular Meeting MINO'I'ES OF RUNLAR MEEWG MLW SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL MARCH 169 1948 A Regular Meeting of Miemi Shores Village Council was held March 169 1948 at 7130 P-Me with all members of the Council present. Mrs Thomas He Anderson, village attorney, was also present. On motion made by Mrs Parish, seconded by Mrs Reynolds, and unanimously carried, Minutes of Regular Meeting of March 2, 1948 were approved as written, The Council then heard Mr. Tames Noel concerning the proposed American Legion building site on the Golf Course wherein he requested that a deed be issued to the Legion in exchange for lots 15 and 169 Block 309 Miami Shores Subdivision instead of the previously approved ninety- nine year lease on'the Golf Course sites Council appeared to be willing to comply with this request but withheld action when the Village Attorney suggested that the Legion Post have its attorney thoroughly investigate possible litigation from adjoining property owners in relation to securing right-of-way at the end of 104th Street to said building sites Upon motion of Mrs Parish,. seconded by Mrs Reynolds, and unan- imously carried. Council authorized a contribution of $100 to the American Red Cross, Council received the Certificate of Inspectors and Clerk of the Bond Election held on Tuesday, March 160 19148 and determined that the bond election had failed to carry because an insufficient number of freeholders participated in said election, there being 19,1407 freeholders registered with. On motion made by Mr. McCaffrey, seconded by Mr. Parishg and unanimously carried, Council approved the erection of a construction shop on property at approximately NE 108th Street and North Miami Avenue to be used by Miami Shores Builders, Inc. in the development of Duaning's Miami Shores Extension Subdivisions* On motion made by Mr. McCaffrey, seconded by Mr. Parish: and unanimously carried, Council approved subdivision plats of DunningOs Miami Shores Extension Nos. 4 and 5 provided sufficient bond is posted to guarantee the installation of pavements of'not less than 1181 in width, sidewalks of not less than 5' in width, and rock alleys of not^less than 100 inFwidth, the pavements and sidewalks to be done according to specifications pre- scribed by the Village 3ngineer; beautification and parks to be consistent with that in the Village at the present time. Council received a verbal appeal from Mr. George A. Brautigam, attorney, in behalf .of Tobn Kennedy, appealing a decision of the Planning Board in denying Mr. Kennedy a permit to construct a home according to incomplete sketch on lot 129 block 132. Upon motion made by We Frix, seconded by Mr. Parish, and unanimously carried. Council upheld the decision of the Planning Board and denied the appeal• On motion made by Mr. Parish, seconded by We Reynolds, and unanimous- ly carried, Council authorized the Village Attorney to employ We Keefer as expert witness in the case of Wolf vs. Miami Shores Village at a fee of not to exceed $500.00.
