09-16-1947 Regular Meeting MINUTES REGULAR MEETING MIAMI SHORES VILIAGE COUNCIL SS mmER 16, 19+7 A Regular Meeting of Miami Shores Village Council was held S eptember 169 1917, All members of the Council were present. Village Attorney, Mr. Thomas H. Anderson, was absent. Council dispensed with reading of the Minutes of Regular Meeting of September 29 1947 and approved them as written.. The first business to come before the Council was the use of the front roam at the Community House for a junior kindergarten, request coming from Mr. Lang, Principal. It was the feeling of the Council that since this operation would be under direction of the School system, there could be no objection. The Village Manager was instructed to write Bessemer Properties to this effect and notify them the Council approved of it. Mr. RBynolds moved, seconded by Mr, Frix, and unanimously carried, that the School Board be authorized to use this roan. The neat business to came before the meeting was the truck routes as are now designated in the Village - P rotests from residents of 95th Street, one of the designated streets, were heard and requests were made to have the Council withdraw its recent action designating truck routes. After much discussion, Mayor Mackenzie suggested that a Traffic Committee be appointed with Chief Senneff as chairman, in an effort to arrive at a solution. Mr. Frix moved that the Council instruct the Village Manager to instruct Chief Senneff not to enforce the truck routes until such time as our next scheduled C ouncil meeting when we can go into it in fuitther detail. Motion was seconded by Mr. Parish and unanimously carried. AZT 125 _ I 3 T -2- Petition of property owners in Bay Lure subdivision for a reduction in cubic feet requirements was submitted to the Council• Council was in- - formed that the Planning Board had approved of the reductions as shown on the sketch, and Mr. McCaffrey moved that the recommendations of the Planning Board be approved by the Council and that the change in the zoning in the Bay Lure section be accepted. Motion was seconded by Mr. Parish and unanimously Carried• The matter of flat roof construction was discussed and it was the feeling of the Council that the meeting should be adjourned because of the- impending hurricane and the subject reconsidered at a future meeting of the Council.
