Members of Miami Shores Village Council sitting as an Equal-

qual-ization:Board met om the nights of July 299 30,, and 311 1947 in the
Village Office. The meeting of July 29 convened after the Public Hear-
ing on the tentative budget at which no equalization complaints were re-
ceived*
On the night of Xuly 309. Mrs Boyle, We Sutcliffe, Miss George,
Mrs. Byrd, and Mr. Pearson.appeared before the Board and objected to the
assessments placed on their properties. The Mayor explained the method
of assessment on houses and no adjustments were made except in the case
of an irregular shaped vacant lot in Block 1?5, Miami Shores Subdivision,
owned by We Sutcliffe which was reduced to $3040. The Board ordered
that land valuations be increased at least $5.00 per front foot in the
vicinity of 96th Street near the Bay and that a re-check be made on all
irregular shaped lots for possible adjustment:
On July 31, Miss Florence Powers appeared before the Board and
protested the land valuei on her property at NJI, 95th Street and 2nd Avenue.
The Board ordered that all lots abutting NJ* 95th Street west of NX*
2nd ,Avenue be reduced in assessment to $12.00 per front foot.
There being no further business presented for consideration, the
Equalization Board was dissolved.
