A Special Meeting of Miami Shores Village Council
was held inthe Village Office at 7s30 P.M. lone 24e 31947•

The first business to come before the Meeting was the
appointment of a citizen to fill the vacancy on the Council*
Upon motion of We Parish@ seconded by We Mackenzie,. and unani-
mously carried. Mre George A# Frix was appointed to fills the
unexpired term of We Ee McKee@ resigned• The Oath of Office was
administered to We Frit by the Village Manager as a Notary Public.
The Village Manager then presented a letter from Mre
Fe Be Lautz addressed *To the Mayor and Members of the Village
Council. Idami Shores, Florida@ reading. as followas
@Please be advised that the charter provides
.for mW:election to the council, to replace
We MCSee, since I received the fourth
highest vote at the recent election., I
expect to accept the office when nominated..

The Village Attorney was asked whether the sense of We Lautz letter
was his interpretation of the Charter and he stated it was not, and
that the Council has the right to nominate and appoint its choice

to fill a vacancy.. Upon motion made by we Reynolds, seconded
by we Mackenzie# and unanimously carried; the Village Manager
was instructed to write a letter •to We Iautz advising him that
the vacancy created by we XbKoe's resignation has already been
filled by We George A. Fri=.
The Village Building and Zoning Director then presented.
four sealed bids- far the dining roam addition to the Golf Course
Clubhouse which were opened and found to be as follows:
Hamilton Construction Co. $2229777.400 with accompany-
ing check for $569.43
Frank J. Rooney 219463.00 with accompany-
ing check for $550.00
Mulford Ston 17.286.00 which includes
$150* allowance for
finish hardware.
Clark-atom Construction Go* Uo,994.00 with accompany-
ing check for $375.00
These bids were submitted to furnish all necessary labor and equip-
ment to construct Dining. Roan Addition to Miami Shores Country Club
in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by Robert Fitch
So4ith# Architect* It was moved by W* Pariah, seconded by we Frixg
and unanimously carried; that action on these bids for the Golf
Course improvements be delayed until the next regular meeting of the
Council to be held July 19 1947.
The Village Manager presented a Right-of-Way Deed to Dade

County for N.W. 17th Avenue along the Village nursery and proposed'
that the 35' running along the east side of the nursery property
be dedicated to the County for highway purposes. We Reynolds mored•
seconded by W. Parish, and unanimously carried that the County
Right-of-Way Dead covering the East thirty-five (35) feet of S�
of SBJ of SZJ of Section 34. Township'52 South,, Range 41 Easto be
granted the County as requested contingent upon the straightening
and paving of 1033rd Street west frau Etchen's Shooting Country Club
to N.W• 17th Avenue•
Upon motion made by We Parish,, seconded by We Frit,
and unanimously carried, the Village Manager was instructed to
=Vloy two appraisers - one real estate man and one mortgage man -
to spot check various areas of the Village and compare with,assess-
menta now being made in the Village Office•
There being no further business the meeting adjourned
at 9:15 P.M.
