10-23-1945 Special Meeting EINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF MIAIJII SHORES
VILLAGE COUNCIL
October 23, 1945
A special meeting of the Miami Shores Village Council
was held on October 23, 1945 with all members present.
The meeting having been called for the purpose of meet-
ing with Mr. Dunning to appoint the other executive directors of
the Golf Club called for by Ordinance 149 adopted October 16, 1945.
After some discussion about the Ordinance Mr. Parish moved that
Ordinance 149 be rescinded. The motion was seconded by Mr. Kil-
burn and was carried by unanimous vote.
After some debate between IJ[r. McKee and Mr. Parish about
the merits of the Golf Course plan Mr. Nichols submitted his re-
signation as Village Attorney. Upon motion made by Mr. Reynolds,
seconded by Idlr. Parish, Mr. Nichol 's resignation was unanimously
accepted.
I!'r. Parish then made a statement of his position in the
matter of serving the Village as a councilman. A transcript of
the notes made of his statement being on file in the Village office.
A new Ordinance was drawn incoporating the Parish and Kil-
burn Golf Course operation plan, and upon motion made by IJIr. Parish,
seconded by IJIr. Kilburn, Ordinance 150 was adopted by a vote of 4
to 1, with IJIr. IJIcKee dissenting.
Mr. Dunning then appeared before the council and introduced
Mr. Wm. H. Walker, Jr. and recommended his appointment as First
Vice-President of the Golf Club. Mr. Parish moved and the Council
approve the appointment of Itr. Walker and go on record as express-
ing sincere appreciation to Mr. Dunning and Mr. Walker for their
consent to serve the Village.

The. motion was seconded by IJIr. Kilburn and was carried
by unanimous vote.
There being no further business presented for discussion
the meeting was adjourned.
