10-02-1945 Special Meeting 15 MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL OCTOBER 2, 1945 A special meeting of Miami Shores Village Council was held at 7:30 P.M. October 2, 1945, called for the purpose of open- ing all bids received on the bond issue of the municipal golf course. Councilmen present : L. J. McCaffrey, mayor J. C. Kilburn Howard Parish M. E. Reynolds absent : W. H. McKee The Mayor announced at 7:30 P.M. the opportunity to present bids had passed, and the Village Clerk proceeded with the opening of sealed bids for the purchase of $350,000 golf course bonds. The first bid opened was submitted jointly by three companies, namely, John Nuveen & Co.; Leedy, Wheeler & Co., and A. Be Morrison & Co., offering $3500210, with 3.50% interest on bonds maturing 1946 through 1954; 3.25° on those maturing 1955 through 1962 and 2.75% on those maturing 1963 through 1965. The second bid opened from Atwill & Co., offering $358,502, with 2 1/4% interest on bonds maturing 1946 through 1950; 3% on bonds maturing 1951 through 1965*. The last bid opened was submitted jointly by three com- panies, namely, Be J. Van Ingen & Co., Inc; The Ranson-Davidson Co., Inc, and Barcus, Kindred & Co., offering $350,675,50, with 2 3/4% interest on bonds maturing 1946 through 1949; 3% For the 16 17 years 1950 through 1952, and 3 1/4% on the remainder, 1953 through 1965. Upon motion of Mr. Parish, seconded by Mr. Reynolds, the Council unanimously adopted Resolution No. 274, accepting the bid of Atwill & Company. Upon motion of Mr. Reynolds, seconded by Mr. Parish, L. L. Robinson; Robert Underwood; Mrs . Otto H. Goll; R. J. Schneider, and D. E. McDonald, were unanimously appointed to Miami Shores Village Planning Board to serve temporary appointments until February 11, 1946.
