MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL
AUGUST 14, 1945
The regular monthly meeting of Miami Shores Village
Council was held at 7:30 p.m., August 14, 1945. Councilmen
present were: L. J. McCaffrey, mayor,
J. Co Kilburn,
Id. H. McKee,
M. E. Reynolds,
absent: Howard Parish.
Minutes of the meetings of July 10, July 13, public
hearing of July 27, equalization board meetings and the
special meeting of July 30, 1945, were approved.
Council received a letter from Coordinating and Planning
Committee of Dade County, requesting funds for which to con-
tinue operations, and action was postponed until Mr. Mitchell
a member of said committee could attend the council meeting
and discuss the matter.
An application was received from Mrs . Gladys Sutherland
to receive permission to replat seven lots on N. E. 2nd Avenue
between 103rd and 104th Streets . Action was postponed on this
matter until Mrs . Sutherland secures, in writing, permission
from the adjoining property owners .
Upon motion made by Mr. Reynolds, seconded by Mr. McKee,
Council approved plat subdividing a tract of land on the west
side of Miami Avenue, between 91st and 92nd Streets .

The Council was advised that Mr, C. F. i`dheeler had
requested a permit to build a two-car garage at 150 N. E. 96th
Street, but no action was taken in view of the fact that the
original plans and permit did not include such a building.
Upon motion made by Mr. Kilburn, seconded by 1:Ir. Reynolds,
Council approved the issuance of a permit to ti"J. E. Ketchem
for the construction of a residence on Lot 27, Block 67, Miami
Shores Sub-division.
Upon motion made by Mr. Reynolds, seconded by Mr. Kilburn,
Council denied an application for a permit to construct a
residence on a 501 lot at the southeast corner of N. E. 93rd
Street and 5th Avenue, owned by T . J. Cherney.
Upon motion made by Mr. Reynolds, seconded by Mr. McKee
application made by H. L. Clark to build a CBS office building
on his property at 91st Street and Biscayne Boulevard was
referred to the Planning Board for recommendation.
Council received a check in the amount of $250.00 as
a contribution by the Biscayne Kennel Club to the Village Play-
ground Fund and instructed that thanks and appreciation be
expressed to the officers of the Club.
Upon motion made by Mr. McKee, seconded by Mr. Reynolds,
Council unanimously confirmed the appointment of Stuart A.
Senneff as Village Karshall, at a salary of 4'300 per month.
Upon motion of Mr. Reynolds, seconded by Mr. Kilburn,
bills in the amount of X2,214.30 viere approved and ordered paid.
Council declined to approve, the employment of outside
assistance to the Village 'tanager in the preparation of papers

in connection with the sale of golf course bonds .
Council discussed the proposed sewerage system for the
Village but no action was taken.
