07-27-1945 Public Hearing MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING AND MEETINGS MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL JULY 27, 28 and 30, 1945 Miami Shores Village Council held a public hearing at 8:00 p.m. July 27, 1945, for the purpose of discussing the tentative budget for the fiscal year, August 1, 1945 - July 31, 1946, and also pursuant to notice to discuss. the rezoning of Lots 1, 21 3, and 4, Block 59, Miami Shores Section No. 1. Councilmen present : L. J. McCaffrey, mayor J. C. Kilburn M. E. Reynolds Absent: W. H. McKee Howard Parish There were twenty-seven village residents in attendance. The Mayor opened the meeting and discussed each item of the budget, answering the several questions asked by citizens regarding street improvements and the golf course bond financing. The Mayor then discussed the proposed rezoning of Lots 1, 20 3, and 4. Block 59, Miami Shores Sudivision, from Utilities zoning to Industrial zoning. The Mayor explained that the four lots under discussion were located between two other Industrial zones, and Mr. Renuart explained that if approved he proposed to build a modern, concrete building on the property. After some discussion, a token vote was taken and was unanimously approved by the village residents present. Council then adjourned to the Village Office and sat as an Equalization Board to hear objections to property assess- ments. No objections were presented and the Equalization July 27, 28 and 30, 1945 - 2 - Board adjourned until 8 :00 p.m. July 28, at which time no ob- jections to assessments were presented. The Board further adjourned until July 30, at 8:00 p.m. at which time all members were present except Mr. Parish. As no objections to assessed valuations were presented at this meeting, the Equalization Board was dissolved. Upon motion by Mr. McKee, seconded by Mr. Reynolds, Council unanimously adopted Ordinance No. 146, adopting the budget for the coming fiscal year as presented at the public meeting of July 27th. Upon motion made by Mr. Reynolds, seconded by Mr. Kilburn, Council unanimously adopted Ordinance No. 147, being an ordinance fixing the total tax roll and millage rates for operating and debt service for the tax year 1945. Upon motion made by Mr. Kilburn, seconded by Mr. McKee, Council unanimously adopted Ordinance No. 148, being an ordinance rezoning Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4, Block 59, Miami Shores Subdivision, from Zone U (Utilities, public or private) to Zone I 1 (business, light manufacturing and warehousing district) . Upon motion made by Mr. McKee, seconded by Mr. Reynolds, current bills in the amount of $644.95 were approved and ordered paid.
