06-28-1945 Special Meeting MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL JUNE 28, 1945 An adjourned meeting of June 22, 1945, of Miami Shores Village Council was held at 8:00 p.m. June 28, 1945. Councilmen present were : L. J. McCaffrey.. mayor W. H. McKee James C. Kilburn M. E. Reynolds Absent : None Upon motion of Mr. McKee, seconded by Mr. Kilburn, Miami Shores Village Resolution No. 271 was unanimously adopted, being a resolution appointing Howard I. Parish as a member of Miami Shores Village Council to succeed John G. Thompson, resigned. The Oath of Office was administered to Mr. Parish by C. L. McCall, notary public. Upon motion of Mr. Kilburn, seconded by Mr. Parish, Eiami Shores Village Ordinance No. 145, changing Lots 1 to 5, inclusive, Block 16, Lots 10 to 14, inclusive of Block 33, Lots 1 to 5, inclusive of Block 21, and Lots 13 to 17, inclu- sive, Block 28, Miami Shores Section #1, from Zone B-1 to Zone R-8, was adopted by four-fifths vote, 11r. Reynolds dis- senting. A letter from 11r. M. B. Arnold of the American Legion was read and ordered filed. Mr. Kilburn made a motion that the Village Manager give notice of a public meeting to be held at the Community - 2 House at 8 :00 P.M. on July 17, 1945, for the purpose of dis- cussing re-zoning as provided for in Ordinances numbered 144 and 145, and to consider a new site for the American Legion Home, one acceptable to the Legion and citizens of Miami Shores Village.
