OF MIAMI SHORES VILLF.GE COUNCIL
OCTOBER 2nd, 1944
The regular monthly meeting of the Miami Shores
Village Council was held at 8:00 P.M. October 2nd, 1944.
All members were present except Mayor Dooly,and Mr. Thompson
presided as Chairman. Also present were the five members
of the Village Planning Board. Mr. C. F. Wheeler appeared
before the Council and requested a permit to construct a
4-unit apartment building on Lots 7 and 8, Block 20, Miami
Shores, explaining that these lots were between his home
and the alley back of the drug store building facing 96th Street,
and after some discussion no action was taken, it having been

pointed out that article 14 of Ordinance No. 92 provides 4the
Planning Board act as a Board of Adjustment.
Upon motion made by Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr.
Eernest, the Village Attorney was instructed to study and re-
draft the zoning ordinance for further consideration.
Upon motion by Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr . Reynolds,
Miami Shores Village Ordinance No. 136 was passed and adopted ,
being an ordinance vacating the alley in Block 88, Miami Shores
Section 4, to be used for church purposes .
Upon motion made by Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr.
Earnest, the Council accepted, with regrets, the resignation

of Hon. T. J. Blackwell as Municipal Judge and ordered that he
be presented with a scroll of appreciation.
The meeting was then adjourned.
