07-28-1944 Equalization Board Meeting MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE EQUALIZATION BOARD
- COUNCIL MEETING -
July 28th, 1944
On July 28, 1944, at 7;30 P.M. the Village Council,
meeting as an Equalization Board, convened but no business was
presented for actionp and upon motion made by I.4r. Thompson,
seconded by Mr. Arnold, the Equalization Board was dissolved.
The Council then convened for regular business and
discussed the petition for removal of Acacia Trees on Miami
Avenue, and the Mayor instructed the Village Manager to write
to all the property ovmers on Miami Avenue a letter and asking
for opinions of all these residents concerning the removal of
said trees .
The Council then discussed the Budget for the
coming fiscal year but upon motion of 1"Ir. Thompson, seconded
by I!Ir. Arnold, Ordinance No ® 132 was unanimously adopted - said
Ordinance being entitled I" An Ordinance Adopting the Final
Budget (,f Miami Shores Village for the Fiscal Year of Said
Village from August 1, 1944 to July 31, 1945."
Upon motion of Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Thompson,
Ordinance No. 133 was unanimously adopted - said Ordinance
being entitled " An Ordinance Adopting the Final Tax Assessment
Roll of Miami Shores Village for the Year 1944; Determination
of Value of Real and Personal Property and Fixing the Millage

for Revenue for the Requirements of Said Vill6ge for the Fiscal
Year August 1, 1944 Through July 31, 1945."
Upon motion made by !Jlr . Arnold, seconded by Mr.
Thompson, Council approved the purchase of Lot 1, Block 22,
Miami Shores Subdivision, at a cost of $1500.00, plus 1944
taxes and abstract expenses .
ldr. Lockhart appeared before the Council and made
a cash offer of $7222.50 for approximately 24-acres of nursery
land. Upon motion made by qtr. Thompson, seconded by Mr. Arnold,
said offer was accepted.
End of the year bills in the amount of $3,619.68
were approved and ordered paid.
The Meeting was then adjourned.
