MINUTES OF REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING
OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL
APRIL 11, 1944
The regular monthly meeting of Miami Shores Village
Council was held on April 11, 1944. All members of the
Council were present, as were the Village Manager and
Village Attorney.
Minutes of the meeting of March 14, 1944 were read
and approved.
The Council discussed the possibility of refinancing
the golf course and postponed action until a conference could
be held by Mr. Dooley and Mr. Hawkins concerning postponing
any action on the part of Bessemer Properties insofar as
foreclosure sale or the closing of the golf course is concerned.
Upon motion of Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Dooley, the
Council unanimously approved a subdivision of the Wj of the
NJ of the NJ of the SEJ of Section 36, Township 52 South,
Range 41 East, said subdivision to be known as Miami Shores
Extension containing two blocks numbered 219 and 220.
Mr. C. F. Wheeler, owner of said subdivision, appeared
before the Council and discussed his plan to build fifty (50)
houses on this property in the near future.
Upon motion of Mr. Dooley, seconded by Mr. Reynolds,
the Council instructed that the Planning Board in examining
the plans for this subdivision take into consideration the
war emergency and permit a waiver of 250 cubic feet content of
the house requirements in this zone.
Upon motion of Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Dooley, the
Council instructed that the permit and inspection fees on
the PEA supervised houses constructed in said Miami Shores
Extension be waived.
Upon motion of Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Earnest,
the Council instructed that North Miami Avenue between 107th
and 115th Streets be surfaced with sand and asphalt.
Upon motion of Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Dooley
the March bills in the amount of $2,076.63 were approved and
ordered paid.
There being no further business presented for discussion,
the meeting was adjourned.
