02-08-1944 Regular Meeting MINUTES OF REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL FEBRUARY 8, 1944 The regular monthly meeting of Miami Shores Village Council was held on February 8, 1944. All members of the Council were present, as were the Village Manager and Village Attorney. Minutes of, the meeting of January 14, 1944 were read and approved. Mr. Fred Fletcher appeared before the Council and requested that the Village make plans in conjunction with the City of Miami to install a complete sewerage system as soon as possible . Mr. Ferris appeared before the Council in connection with his written offer to purchase the Miami Shores Village Nursery land and after some discussion, the Council rejected Mr. Ferris ' offer and informed him that they might consider an offer on the North 20 acres of said property. The Village Manager was instructed to check into the question of Public Utility Licenses, including telephone, power and transportation, and to present, along with the Village I Attorney, a gas franchise ordinance at the next meeting. Upon motion of Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Reynolds, Mr. James G. Garner was appointed a member of the Library Board for a five (5) year term. A letter was received from the Engineer's Association of South East Florida and the Village Manager was instructed to answer said letter and inform them that the Village is interested in their proposal and to invite a member of said organization to attend one of the Council Meetings for the discussion. Upon motion of Mr. Dooly, seconded by Mr. Reynolds, January bills in the amount of $1261.79 were approved and ordered paid. Upon motion of Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Reynolds, the Village Manager was instructed to repair the waterfront sea wall rail` at 96th Street and the Bay. Upon motion of Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Dooly, the Mayor and Village Manager were instructed to investigate the possibility of refinancing the Golf Course. There being no further business presented, the meet- ing was adjourned.
