09-21-1943 Regular MeetingMINUTES OF MEETING OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL SEPTEMBER 21, 1943. The regular monthly meeting of the Miami Shores Village Council was' held on September 21, 1943. Present were Mr. Thompson, Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Earnest, the Village Manager and' Village Attorney. Minutes of the meeting of August 10, 1943, were read and approved. An appeal for a permit to reconstruct an old building at 930 N. E. 92nd Street was presented, but action was postponed. Upon motion of Mr. Reynolds, seconded by Mr. tamest, the Gulf Oil permit for a filling station at the corner of N. E. 2nd Avenue and 95th Street was renewed. Notice was received that Major General Phillip B. Fleming, Administrator of the Federal Works Agency, would be in Miami, October 19, 1943, to discuss post-war plans. The Village Attorney reported that he had the deeds for the library and park lots from Bessemer Properties and would present them at the next meeting for approval of the Council. The Village Attorney also presented two ordinances prepared concerning hedge heights in the Village, but action was postponed until a full council could be present. Audit reports were given Council members. Upon motion of Mr. Reynolds, seconded by Mr. Earnest, homestead exemption was granted Chas. W. Hannum. Mr. Fred VJelti appeared before the Council and stated that the Miami Shores Legion Post had pledged a 060,000.00 tank in the Third War Loan Drive, and that he would appreciate the cooperation of the Village in any way to further this drive. August bills°in the amount of 42998.8 were approved and ordered paid. Upon motion of Mr. Reynolds, seconded by Mr. Earnest, Resolution No. 261 was unanimously adopted, said resolution being entitled: A RESOLUTION OPENING AND MAINTAINING A RATION BANK ACCOUNT There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
