08-10-1943 Regular Meeting47 MINUTES OF MEETING OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL AUGUST 10, 1943. The regular monthly meeting of the Miami Shores Village Council was held on August 10th,, all members being present. Minutes of the meetings of July 6th, July 19th, July 20th and July 21st, 1943, were read and approved. The Village Attorney reported that Bessemer Properties would, at an early date, submit deeds to the lots purchased for parks on N. E. 2nd Avenue. He also reported that the Crane and Company suit had been settled. Mr. Fred Fletcher appeared before the Council and requested that some regulation be adopted concerning the height of hedges.on private property WimPanned. After discussion the Village Attorney was instructed to prepare an ordinance for discussion at the next meeting. The Council received an application for a wholesale liquor license from. G. V. Quinones and Mr. Frank Keidel, to be located at Biscayne Blvd. and 92nd Street, and Mr. Arnold moved that the license be granted with the understanding that the premises would not be cluttered up with boxes and debris, including trucks, and that there be no excessive advertising other than for the establishment itself on the exterior of the building. Said motion was seconded by Mr. Reynolds and unanimously passed. Upon motion of Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Reynolds, the Council authorized expenses not to exceed $200.00 for the Village Manager attending the City Managers' Convention in Chicago September 10th -14 Incl. The Village Manager was instructed to investigate the water distribution system and report to the Council. Village bills incurred for the month of July in the amount of $1226.35 were approved and ordered paid. The Council members decided to remove official emblems from their private automobiles. After which the meeting was adjourned. Each word, phrase, sentence or section of this ordinance shall be severable and the invalidity of any word, phrase, sentence or section shall in no way or degree impair any other part or parts thereof. SECTION 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall become effective • immediately upon its passage and adoption.
