02-16-1943 Regular Meeting MINUTES OF REGUTA R MONTHLY MEETING OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL FEBRUARY 16, 1943. The regular monthly meeting of the Miami Shores Village Council was held on February 16th, with all members present as were the Village Manager and Village Attorney. Minutes of the meeting of January '9th were rdad and approved. The Council received a letter from Mr. Julian Be Prix stating that he was unable to accept appointment to the Planning Board, and upon motion of Xr. Thompson, seconded by Mr. Reynolds, said letter was unani- mously accepted. It was decided to wait until a later date to appoint the new member to the PlAnning Board. A letter was received from Dorothy Oriojo requesting 1942 Homestead Exemption on her property located at 9314 N.W. 2nd Avenue and upon motion of Mr. Reynolds, seconded by Mr. Dooly, said request was denied. Upon motion of Mr. Thompson, seconded by Mr. Reynolds, Ordinance No. 119 was unanimously adopted. Upon motion of Mr. Dooly, seconded by Mr. Reynolds} January bills in the amount of 61667.30 were approved and ordered paid. The Attorney brought up the matter of a Tax forclosure suit of Miami Shores Village against Associated Realty Corporation; and Nor. Thompson moved that "the Village Manager and Village Attorney be in- structed to- check into the suit and ascertain if the Village has any further interest by reason of litigation, and if we have none, that the suit be dismissed, or if it does have some interest that has not been enforced, that a report be made to the Council, and to authorize the re- lease of Lot 5, Block 1, O'Dell Manors from Lis Penens, if the Village has no interest in it:' Said motion was seconded by Mr. Dooly and unanimously carried. l� The Council discussed the Library and Park project, and authorized the Magor and Village Manager to proceed with negotiations to secure the property needed.
