MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL
DECEMBER 8, 1942.
The regular monthly meeting of the Miami Shores
Village Council was held on December 8th, with all members present
as were the Village Manager and Village Attorney.
Minutes of the meeting of November 10th were read
and approved.
A letter was presented from the Gulf Oil Corporation
concerning the suit now pending against the Village for a permit
to construct a filling station on the corner of N. E. 95th Street
and N. E. 2nd Avenue, and upon motion of Mr. Dooly, seconded by
Mr. Thompson, said permit was granted subject to all federal rules
and regulations concerning the permit.
Upon motion of Mr. Dooly, seconded by Mr. Thompson,
the installation fee of $3.00 at the Community House for the telephone
extensions and the payment of $4.80(z/month for their maintenance
was approved and ordered paid, and ar-,_RAynoj ds
Upon motion of Mr. Reynolds, seconded by Mr. Dooly,
Mr. Arnold mas unanimously appointed as a representative to the
Steering Committee for the Dade County Association of Municipal
Officials.
Upon motion of Mr. Dooly, seconded by Mr. Reynolds
the Village Manager was authorized to handle the Victory Tax dedue-
tions by taking the individual 5% from the Employees' salaries.
The Village Manager was instructed to check into
the Miami-Opa Locke: bus line situation and report back to the Council.

The Village Manager reported that the street light
addition situation had been settled in letters sent to the Council
concerning same, signed by Mr. Bosworth of the Florida Power and
Light Company.
Upon motion of Mr. Dooly, seconded by Mr. Earnest,
November bills in the amount of $1156.43 were approved and ordered
paid.
The Council authorized the attendance of the Village
Manager to the Florida League of Municipalities Meeting at
Jacksonville, Florida, and that expenses be paid not to exceed
$75.00.
Mr. Thompson was appointed to work with the Village
Attorney on the proposed library for Miami Shores Village.
Upon motion of Mr. Reynolds, seconded by Mr. Earnest,
the sum of $5.00 each was appropriated to be given the Village
Employees for their annual christmas gift.
After which the meeting was adjourned.
