The minutes of the meetings of May 13th, May 22nd and May
28th, were read and approved.
(Mr. Stockdell added that he wanted it in the minutes that
he made the statement he felt that "we had already given him
(A.H. McGregor) 30 days payment and thought that that was the will
of the Council when they granted t hat. The majority did not think
so so they voted to give him 60 days.")
The first business to come before the Council was the con-
sideration of a resolution with reference to a National Defense
Construction grant for Hospitalization for the Caribbean Area
and South Florida. Upon motion by Mr. Frix and Seconded by Mr.
Childress the Council unanimously approved the adoption of the said
resolution.
A letter was received from the residents of N.W. 92nd Street
between Miami Avenue and N.W. 1st Avenue submitted by Carl F. Stein
and signed by the residents of N.W. 92nd Street expressing their
appreciation and thanks for the beautification of their street, said
letter being attached and made a part of these minutes.
The next business to come before the Council was the Gulf
Refining Suit and the Village Manager stated that the following
morning was set for argument in the suit, that Mr. Holt's secretary
had asked Lee Worley to argue the case for Mr. Holt but that Mr.
Worley did not want to act without sanction of the Council, but
would act for Mr. Holt without obligation on anybody's part.

?iami Shores Village,
Florida.
Uentlemen;
We, the undersigned residents of NW 92nd Street, between
Miami Avenue and NW 1st Avenue, wish to express our warmest
appreciation and thanks to the L.ayor of ITiari Shores Village,
to the councilmen and to the Village Y-anager for the splendid
manner in which our street was beautified by the very recent
planting of a double row of coconut Palm trees along our parkways.
This project has added immeasurably to the fine appearance of
our street.
It is indeed worthy of recognition and praise on the part
of us, the residents, to acknowledge to our governing body,
that we appreciate their efforts to create a beautiful village
at a time when so many communities are being visited with such
wanton destruction.
In conclusion, we would also like to commend the foreman
and the crew that did such a thorough and workmanlike job.
Gratefully yours,
The residents of N W 92nd Street.
To be attached to letter of thanks to Village.
