OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL
MAY 13, 1941
The regular monthly meeting of the Miami Shores Village
Council was held on May 13, 1941, with all members present
and the Village Manager.
The minutes of April 8, 11, 17 (after correction),
and 29, 1941, were read and approved.
The first business to come before the Council was a
recommendation from the Planning Board concerning cubic foot
requirements on 96th Street between the railroad and N. E. 8th Ave.
Mr. Pruitt moved that the Council adopt the recommendation of the
Planning Board, and said motion was seconded by Mr. Lindsey. In
discussing the motion it was pointed out that the Planning Board
did not give them their reasons for arriving at the figures in
their recommendation, and it was decided to ask them to give a
more detailed report. The Council also decided that they would
individually investigate this matter, whereupon ¶r. Pruitt withdrew
his motion with the consent of Mr. Lindsey.
Mr. Krames appeared before the Council regarding his
application for a permit to build a filling station at 87th Street
and Biscayne Boulevard, but no action was taken as the Council
decided to consider the matter further before making a decision.
Mr.1 Prouse appeared before the Council in behalf of the
residents living in the vicinity of the Village Nursery to object
to the smoke created by the burning of garbage at said nursery.
The Council postponed action on this request until a report could
be had concerning a plan to salvage and dispose of the garbage
without creating a large amount of smoke.
