11-04-1939 Informal Meeting MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL November 4, 1939 The Miami Shores Village Council held an informal meeting at noon on Saturday, November 4, 1939, to discuss the action of Bessemer Properties in filing a suit to foreclose the Golf Course Mortgage. All members were present except Mr. Pruitt. The Mayor called a Council meeting for 7 :30 that evening but stated that he could not be present. Mr. Pruitt could not be located but a j message was left at his home concerning the called special meeting. I The Special Meeting was assembled at 7:30,with Mr. Lindsey, Lir. Stockdell and Mr. Milledge present. Upon motion of Mr. Milledge, Lir. Lindsey was chosen to preside over the meeting. The first matter of business discussed was Mr. James A. Dixon' s letter declining to serve on the Golf Course Committee and upon motion of Mr. Milledge, seconded by Mr. Stockdell , Mr. L. J. McCaffery was unanimously appointed to the Golf Course Committee. The Council then discussed the suit of Bessemer Properties to foreclose the mortgage on the Golf Course, and upon motion made by Mr. 14illedge, seconded by Mr. Stockdell the Council unanimously instructed the Village Attorney to defend said suit, and in the same cause ask for affirmative relief of Bessemer Properties oral agreement to loan the Village funds to complete the Golf Course and with which to pay the outstanding bills against said Golf Course. Mr. Lindsey and Mr. Milledge offered their legal services in this matter free of charge to the Village. Mr. Milledge then made a motion that the Village Manager be instructed to notify the National Administrator of r+. P. A. of the said suit to fore- dose on the Golf Course and to enclose a copy of the Bill of Complaint, and ask, to be informed of attitude of the ti►. P. A. in this matter.
