12-13-1938 Regular Meeting MINUTES OF THF MEETING OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE 0OU9CIL Dec. 13, 1938 The. regular monthly meeting of the-Miami Shores Village Council was heldi on December 13, 1938, in the Village office at 7:30 P. M. Present were Mayor Lindsey, Mr. Carlisle, Mr. Kitson, Mir. Pruitt, the i Village Attorney and the Village Clerk. Minutes of the meeting of November 81 1939, were read and approved. The first business to come before the Council was the proposed plat to i The know as Kirby' s Addition to Miami Shores, which was approved subject "to depositing with the Village Manager sufficient bond satisfactory to the Counci to assure the construction of streets and sidewalks designated on the plat. The matter of possible changes in the zoning requirements in the area surrounding the H. L. Clark property was Brough up. In the absence of Mr. Clark the:.-Mayor stated that the Council had, since the last regular meeting, discussed this situation at length and were sympathetic toward Mr. Clark's contentions as to the rezoning bf this property and agree with him to a certain extent in principle bu tthey desire Of Mr. Clark a submission of his proposed zoning of the property that the details might be worked out for further discussion. Upon motion made by Mr. Carlisle and seconded by Mr. Kitson, the Council authorized the cancellation of a 1934 Tax Certificate on Lot 14, Block 35, Miami Shores, at a cost of X8.96, said certificate having been issued and sold in error. Upon motion made by Mr. Carlisle and seconded by Mr. Pruitt, approval was made of the procedure of the action of the Village Attorney in the suit of Walter E. Peach and Others VS Miami Shores Village. The Council authorized the expenditure of X15.00 for advorti•sing i purposes in the purchase of' a trophy for the Miami All American Air Maneuvers. i Upon motion made by Mr. Pruitt and seconded by Mr. Kitson, the Council accepted Dedication, without cost to the Village, of a small strip of land on the South side of Block 135, Miami Shores Section 6, said Dedication being recorded In Deed Book 10, Page 39, Public Records of Dade County, Florida. i Upon motion by fir. Carlisle and seconded by Mr. Pruitt, the Village Manager was instructed to purchase a new mimeograph machine and codify and print all Village Ordinances and Resolutions. A letter from the Florida Power and Light Company offering a 2010 discount on all Village power bills except street lighting was received and ordered filed in the Village records along with a copy of the reply written by the Mayor. The Mayor and Village Attorney were requested to meet with the Florida Power and Light Company' s officials and get full information on residence rates in the Village and to find out whether or not the Village electrical consumers were entitled to refunds along with consumers in the City of Miami. The matter of Mr. Fred Vanderpool 's request to build on a fifty- foot lot was broughtup but no action was taken as his request was not made in proper form. Mr. J. 0. Phillips requested approved of a revised plat of a part Of Plaza Federal and upon motion made by Mr. Carlisle and seconded by Mr. Pruitt this matter was referred to the Village Attorney and the Village Manager for recommendation. The mater of Real Estate Broker's license was brought up but was Postponed until full information could be obtained as to requirements of other cities in Greater Miami. Upon motion made by Mr. Pruitt and seconded by Mr. Carlisle November Bills totalling $1046.62 were ordered paid, a list of same being attached to and made a part of these minutes, after which the meeting was adjourned.
