MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL
March 1, 1938
A Special Meeting of the Miami Shores Village Council was held
on March 1, 19389 at the Village office.
All members of the Council were present except Mr. Carlisle.
The first business to eome. before the council was the formal
appeal of Mr. Mitchell from the Planning Board denying him a permit
to build an apartment house on Lot 12, Block 30.
A motion was made by Mr. Pruitt and seconded by Mr. Kitson
that the Council reverse the Planning Board's action in this
matter but the motion failed to carry for lack of four-fifths
favorable vote.
The next business attended to was the application of Mr. George
Burckel for approval of his proposed plat subdividing acreage in
Government Lot 4. Said proposed subdivision to be named Martlynt
Heights.
Upon motion of Mr. Pruitt, seconded by Mr. Kitson, the said
plat of Mar'
lM Heights was approved by the Council.
Upon motion of Mr. Pruitt, seconded by Mr. Goll, a resolution
was passed authorizing Mr. John M. Carlisle, Mr. T. J. Ellis and
Mr. Roy H. Hawkins, members of the Golf Course Committee, to
countersign checks drawn on the Golf Course belanee by the
Village Manager.
Upon motion by Mr. Kitson and seconded by Mr. Pruitt a
resolution was passed assuring the Gounty aommission that the
Village will raise the elevations of the Golf Course bridges
at anytime the other bridges on the Biscayne Canal are raised.
There being no further business presented for discussion
