01-11-1938 Regular Meeting MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF s MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL A regular monthly meeting of the Miami Shores � _ Village Council was held on Janura.ry 11, 1938 at the Village office. All members of the council were present as well as the village attorney and the village manager; The first matter of business to come before the :Council was the election of Wayor for 1938, and upon motion of Mr. Pruitt and seconded by Mr. Carlisle, Mr. John J. Lindsay was unan- imously elected Mayor for this year. The Council members all expressed appreciation and thanks for the good work that Mr. Goll has done during the year of 1937, Mr. Lindsay, on taking the chair, calldd for the ki reading of the minutes of the previous meeting, Which wore approved by the Council. The nett matter of business was the discussion � g of three (3) proposed street lights on Tenth Avenue and E. Dixie p Highway.,- and upon the motion of Mr. Carlisle, seconded by Mr. Goll, the Manager was authorized to order these lights. Application for a $9,000 house on a fifty (50) ` foot lot was received and the same was denied. The Council authorized refunding Mrs. John F. Bartlett in the amount of $11.02 for duplicate payment of ta. es on Lot 7 of 92 and Lot 19 of 9. s _ � A letter from Ur.. John.F. Lanier requesW.d..} Homestead exemption for the year 1936-7 was read and his request j for exemption of taxes for the above was denied. { } A letter' from Mrs. Summer request0d i a twenty- l five (25) foot lot, dwned by her, and asking to be exerapted from the zone ordinance was read and action on this was posponed until � tie Mayor could make a further study o.c same. The Village Manager was instructed to have a aP bicycle rack installed d:t the Community house. The Council discussed the possibility of changing 1,1 cubic footage requirements for building contents in the various zones of the Village and �r�:r.
