MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL.
November 19, 1936
A special meeting of the Miami Shores Village Council was
held November 19th, 1936 at the Village office, A11 members of

the Village Council were present as was the Village Attorney and

Village Clerk, Mayor Pruitt presiding,
The first business attended to was further consideration of
the El Portal resident 's petition, that the property facing 91st St-
rest on the south side of the Street,be taken into lk?Iiami Shores
i
Village. The Council decided that the matter be postponed until
such time as the petition had a majority of the owner's signatures

attached.
An Ordinance closing N. E, 97th Street was presented for
consideration of the Council, and a motion to pass same was made by
Mr, Carlisle and seconded by Mr, Pruitt, but failed of passage, the

vote being; yea;Mr. Carlisle, and Mr, Pruitt., nays; Mr. Goll,
Mr. Lindsey and Mr, Kitson, A,copy of said proposed Ordinance being
attached to, and made a part of these minutes,
Upon motion of Mr. Lindsey, and seconded by Mr. Goll, the
Council passed a resolution stating to the County Tax Assessor that
r the property known as Shorehart, has been used for Municipal park
purposes since 1933 and therefore should be exempt from taxes for
the years 1935 and 1936.
The Village Attorney was instructed to draw Ordinances
concerning the use of Bars and Slot machines in Miami Shores
i
Village.
Upon motion of ffir. Lindsey, seconded by Cdr. Kitson the Cour-
oil authorized the expenditure of seven hundred and fifty dollars to
defray the expenses of employing two extra policemen during the
winter, beginning December 25th,
Mr. Hugh H. Gordon Jr. requested that the Village pave PI.
E. 87th Street from the East Dixie Highway to Biscayne Bay, but
no action was taken regarding this matter.
There being no further business presented for ftscussion
the meeting was adjourned.
