07-21-1936 Equalization Board Meeting 1 4 MINUTES OF T LETING OF MIAMI SHORES V AMCOUNCIL July 218 1936 The Miami Shores Village Council sat as an equalization board on Monday and Tuesday, July 20th and 21st, 1936, Mr, L. M. Hammel appeared and objected to the tentative assessment placed on his property and compared same to the cost, After due discussion the Council reduced his tentative assessment to $100350,00p Mr, Needham also appeared and objected to his tentative assessment, but his request for a reduction was denied. Representatives of Biscayne Kennel Club objected to their tentative assessment, and after discussing the matter the Council reduced the total on this to $400000,00, There being no other business for the equalization board, the Council discussed the WPA street project that had been granted. The Village Manager was instructed to keep an accurate account of the expense:.to the Village and report the total cost to the Council as soon as a few blocks had been done and an average estimated further cost determined. The Village Manager was instructed to repurchase all outstanding tag certificates on Last 30 feet of Lot 21 and all of Lots 220 23, and 240 Block 5, Miami Shores Section 1, and hold until further instructions. The Council unanimously recommended that Mr. Ray A. Jayette be appointed to serve on the Miami Shores Village6Planning Y�z see,,, Board for the unexpired term now vacant. ( � Mr, Mahood requested the Council to reverse the Plan- ning " Board's decision in refusing permits to Geo. J. Burokel, to build two houses on N. E. 93rd Street. Mr, Mahood was informed that he would have to make a formal written appeal before any action could be taken on this matter. The Council approved payment of bills inured in June, a list of same being attached to and made a part of these minutes.
