07-01-1936 Special Meeting MINUT3S OF THE MMTING OF MIAMI SHORTS VILLAGN COUNCIL July lot, 1936 The Miami Shores Village Council held a special meet- Ing at 12 o 'clock at Nunnally's tea room. All members were present except Dr. Cleghorn, who had sent the following letter to Magor Pruitt, To the Honorable Magor and Council Miami Shores Village Gentlemen: For some time, owing to my physical condition, I have considered the necessity of tendering my resignation as a member of the Council. This I have put off because of my hesitancy in severing a relationship which has been the pleasantest I can imagine, However, it appears ' that I will be obliged to 'take a rest in the mountains for two, or possibly three months, and under these circumstances it would be unfair to the other members of the Council for me to attempt to hold my position. Itis with the utmost regret that I therefore tender my resignation, -and may I take this opportunity to extend my deepest thanks and appreciation for the delightful manner in which you have borne with my ignorance and received my suggestions. Very sincerely# Chas, D. C leghorn The- Couneil regretfully accepted Dr. Cleghorn's resign- ation, and expressed appreciation of his wholehearted public work for the Village* It was then decided to appoint a Councilman to fill the unexpired term of Dr. Cleghorn, and the motion being duly made and seconded, Mr. F. Scott Kitson was unanimously elected to serve the unexpired term. The Council then discussed the tentative budget for the fiscal year August 1, 1936 - July 31, 1937, proposed by the Village Manager, and after due consideration, upon motion of Mr. Lindsey, seconded by Mr. Carlisle, the tentative budget was adopted, a copy of which is attached to and made a part of these minutes. The Village Manager was instracted .to notify the Village residents of a public meeting to consider the tentative budget, this meeting to be held July 13, 1936 at the Community Church. There being no further business presented for discussion the meeting was adjourned* Village anger dh ler APPLa TSE UNC • By r STAW OF FLORIDA } } 3 MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE) F.
