06-09-1936 Regular Meeting MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL June 9, 1936 The regular monthly meeting of Miami Shores Village Council was held at the Village office at 7.30 P. Moo Tuesday, June 9th, 1936. Present were Mayor Pruitt# Councilmen John J. Lindsey, John M, Carlisle and Otto H. Goll, the Village Attorney and Village Clerk. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. An application from the Murphy - McDonald Builders Supply Company for a license to operate a lumber and supply business was received, and after being informed of the Planning Board's objection to the granting of this licensee the Council informed Mr. Small of the above Company that he might make a formal appeal to the Council for reversal of the Planning Board decision. The Village Manager reported that a permit had been issued for repairing the building on the N. W. corner of 96th Street and 2nd Avenue, and was instructed to see that this work was done under recommendations of the Planning Board. Mr. Weintraub appeared before the Council in the interest of securing a deed of reconveyance to 10 acres of land formerly owned by his client, and action on this matter was postponed until the neat meeting of the Council. The Village Manager was instructed to secure deed to Cemmnnity House before using any Village funds for repairs on the building. Mr. Ellis discussed the possibility of settling litigation on the acreage located on the west side of N. E. 2nd Avenue north of 105th Street. The Council received a letter from Dr, Chas, D, Cleghorn tendering his resignation as a member of the Council, due to his physical condition and the necessity of going out of town for several months, Dr, Cleghorn's resignation was not accepted and it was decided to discuss it at a later meeting. 40 The question of reducing the cost of filling station lic- enses was discussed, and action on this was postponed until next meetings The Council recolmmended that the Planning Board have it's regular monthly meetings several days before the regular monthly meeting of the Council. The Council approved spraying the Village shrubbery at an To se-11da deM76 ei.4 estimated cost of $75,00, and the payment of $547,23 paid in the following amounts, Block 108, State and County Taxes 237,92 All City of Miami Certificates on all Village Park Property including acreage for proposed Golf Course, 75,81 To redeem Peden Tract from foreclosure 100,00 To redeem Schilling Tract from foreclosure 133,50 The Village Manager was authorized to purchase a Weed cutt- ing machine to be used in lot cleaning work, cost of machine to ber$280900# and charged to Lot Cleaning expense, The Council approved payment of the following bills insured during the month of May, Columbia Tire Co, $ 2,50 Cunningham's 20,85 Collins Paving Co, 8.73 Frank T. Budge Co, 6,50 Electrical Equipment Co, 22,81 Florida Power and Ligth Co, 168,92 Hector Supply Co, 9,13 Holden-Mood Inc, 7.50 Little River Press 32,00 Little River Hardware 1.20 Miami Water Co, 1.50 Orange State Oil Co, 159,49 Skagseth Stationary Go* 1180 Southern Bell Telephone Co, 11.50 Southern Distributing.
