10-09-1935 Regular Meeting MINU'T'ES OF THE MEETING OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL. Oct 9, 1935 Regular monthly meeting of Miami Shores Village Council was held at the Village office on October 9th, at 7 .30 P. M. All members of the Council were present as was the Village Clerk and Village Attorney. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The Village Clerk presented a detailed list of all expense bills paid during the fiscal period February 1st, 1935 to August 1st, 1935. These were reviewed by the Council and approved. The Clerk also presented a list of bills due for the month of September, 1935, and after dissuasion on motion of h1r. Carlisle, seconded by Mr. Goll this list was given approval. The Clerk was instructed that in the future, at each monthly meeting of the Council, that the actual bills to be paid for the preceeding month be presented to the Council with a list of explanations . The question of a Driver' s license ordinance for Miami Shores Village was discussed and a proposed ordinance was pre- sented by the Village Attorney and,,motion of Mr. Carlisle seconded by Dr. Cleghorn and unanimously passed by the Council adopted "AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING ALL OWNERS OF MOTOR VEHICLES OPERATED IN MIAMI ShORLS VILLAGE TU PRESENT THEIR VEHICLES FOR SEMI-ANNUAL INSPEC'T'ION OF CERTAIN VEHICULAR EQUIPMEN'T', RE- QUIRING THE OWNERS OF SAID MO'T'OR VEHICLES TO COMPLY WITH THE j REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH IN THIS ORDINIiNCE, PROVIDING MINIMUM I� STANDARDS FOR CERTAIN EQUIPMENT ON MOTOR VEHICLES, PROVIDING A FEE FOR THE INSPEC'T'ION OF SAID MOTOR VEHICLES, REQUIRING ALL DRIVERS OF MOTOR VEHICLES IN MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE TO SECURE DRIVERS' LICENSES, PROVIDING FOR THE Ghi NTING, REVOCATION AND SUSPtNSION OF SAID DRIVERS' LICENSES, PRESCRIBING REGULATIONS TO BE OBSERVED BY ALL DRIVERS, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE, AND DE- CLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EAIST. Mr. Halliwell owner of the Tourist Camp formerly known as Eaton' s Camp came before the Council and presented a sketch showing his intentions as to extensions and improvements to the present Camp after discussion of the matter the Mayor app- ointed a committee consisting of Mr. Goll, Mr. Godard and Mr. Holt to look into the matter and make recommendations at a later meeting of the Council. Question of occupational licenses for subcontractors operating in the Village was discussed and the Village Attorney was instructed to set a fee for such licenses at $10.00 ( 10.00) dollars a year. The question of appointing a planning board was discussed and it was decided to postpone this matter for discussion at a special meeting to be held October 17, 1935 There being no further business presented for discussion the meeting was adjourned.
