03-22-1935 Regular Meeting MINUTES OF THE MEE'T'ING OF
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL
March 22, 1935
The regular monthly meeting of Miami Shores Village
council was held at the Village office on 'Tuesday March 22, at
7: 30 P . M. All members of the council were present as was also
the village clerk and the village attorney.
On motion of Mr. Carlisle, seconded by Mr. Goll the
village clerk was authorized to accept payment of taxes plus
interest and other costs and reconvey to J . Bendalow Lot 13,
block 21, Pasadena Park.
The village clerk entered a claim for *. E. Peach for
assistance in paving N . W. 100th Street from Miami Avenue to
N. W. 2nd Avenue . It was the opinion of the council that it had
no power to render such financial assistance .
The village attorney proposed an ordinance entitled
"AN ORDINANCE RELA'T'ING TO THE REMOVAL OF SOIL FROM PROPERTY
LOCATED WITHIN MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE AND PROHIBITING THE EXCESSIVE
REMOVAL THEREOF; AND CONCERNING THE ENFORCEMENT AND PENALTIES
FOR VIOLATION. OF SAID ORDINANCE. " After discussion the members,
on motion of Mr. Linds y, seconded by Mr. Carlisle, and upon
unanimous vote taken acclamation, the council approved this
ordinance for immediat& adoption.
Mr. Earnest representing the Farm and Town Realty
Company made written proposal and offered-Irbs- check in the
amount of $342. 76 in payment of 1932-33 taxes foreclosure
costs and interest on Tracts 171-B, 172-C, 173-C, 175-A, 176-A
and 177-A. On motion of Mr. Carlisle, seconded by Mr. Goll, the
village manager was authorized to take payment and the village
attorney was instructed to issue proper papers to reconvey said
property to The Farm and Town Realty Company.
Mr. Earnest also offered to pay taxes on three Lots
in Miami Shores Section 8, not owned by The Farm and Town Realty
Company. After discussion the council decided to reserve opinion
in this matter until the next monthly meeting of the council.
Mr. Earnest representing The Tarrier Company of Delaware
offered check in the amount of #30.63, in payment of taxes, costs
and interest on Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, and 18, of Block 12, in -Pasadena
Park. By unanimous vote of the council the village manager was
authorized to accept this and the village attorney was instructed
to issue proper papers to reconvey this property to The Tarrier
Company of Delaware.
The question of Homestead Exemption was discussed
and the council decided to hold a special meeting for the
purpose of diseusing this one question.
The council discussed the need of police protection
for the Village and decided that the present set-up be maintained
until the next meeting of the council that being 2 policemen
at night and one during the day.
There being no further matters presented for dis-
cussion, the meeting was adjourned
