11-20-1934 Regular Meeting MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL.
Nov. 20, 1934.
The regular monthly meeting of Miami Shores
Village Council was held at the Village offices on Tuesday
November 20th, 1934 at 7:30 P.M. There being a quorum of
the council present, the Mayor called the meeting to order.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The village clerk was instructed to see that the
E. Be Elliott Company take immediate steps to remove the large
bill-board located at Biscayne Boulevard and N.E. Sixth Ave.
The village attorney presented a letter from
Mr. S. P. Laman, owner of lot 42, block 23, El Portal, in which
he requested that the Village quote him a price for the tax
redemption for this lot and also for lots 39-40 & 41 in block
23. After discussion, the council decided that it felt 3ustif&ed
in allowing redemption to the owner of lots included in the
1932-33 tax foreclosure, but did not feel justified in making
committment on properties held by others.
The proposed plat of Seaver & Company subdividing
the NJ of S.W. 4 of S.E. 4 of S.E. I of Sec. 36, Twp 52, Rg. 41
was presented for approval. After reviewing the plat, on motion
of Mr. Carlisle, seconded by Dr. Cleghorn, the Mayor and village
clerk were authorized to sign and affix the seal of the village
in approval of the plat as presented.
The village attorney presented the check of the
Dade County Board of Commissioners in the amount of 01141.55
this being the portion due the Village of the State Road and
Bridge tax levy and the clerk was instructed to set these funds
aside to be kept only for street paving and repair purposes or as
otherwise instructed by the council.
The village attorney was instructed to write to the
H. E. Wolf Construction Co. regarding damages caused to various
streets in the village caused by the change in traffic resulting
from detour signs placed by the construction company in the village.
No further business being presented for discussion,
on motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned.
