10-09-1934 Regular Meeting MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL. October 9, 1934. The regular monthly meeting of Miami Shores Village Council was held on Tuesday evening October 9th 1934 at 7:30 P.M. All members of the council were present. The village clerk and attorney wert: also present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mr. N. R. Field, Village Judge, brought up the discussion of speed regulations in the village and also the question of costs to be allowed the judge. After some discussion, upon the motion of Mr. Lindsey, seconded by Mr. Carlisle, a minimum fine of three dollars and a maximum fine of fifty dollars for traffic violations was set. The amount of coats in each case was set at four dollars . Three dollars to go to the Judge and one dollar to the village . It was agreed that a maximum speed limit of thirty miles per hour be uniformly set for all sections of the village. The village clerk was instructed to see that signs be painted on the pavement at certain locations indicating this speed limit and was also instructed to get bids on upright signs to be placed at the sides of certain streets. The question of what disposition should be made of properties bought in by the village at the foreclosure sale of September 3rd was discussed. The council decided that before definite decision be made that the clerk and the village attorney ascertain the amount of all back state and county and City of Miami taxes that might be outstanding against these properties . The village attorney was instructed to make further demand on the County Commision for that portion of the state road tax money due to the village . The question of foreclosure on 1933-34 taxes was discussed and the clerk was instructed to prepare and turn over to the village attorney the tax sale certificates for delinquent taxes covering this period and the village attorney was instructed to get bids on the cost of abstracting, legal advertising, recording and other costs in this connection and report at the next meeting of the council.
