09-18-1934 Regular Meeting MINUTES OF MEETING OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL Sept. 18, 1934. The regular monthly meeting of Miami Shores Village Council was held at the Village offices at 7: 30 P .M. on Tuesday September 18th, 1934. A quorum of the concil was present. The village clerk and village attorney were also present. Mr. W. E. Peach, owner of property in the village offered a check in payment of taxes due on property which the village had bought in at foreclosure sale on September 3rd, 1934. The council discussed the matter of what disposition should be made of such property and decided that further consideration should be made of the matter and the clerk was instructed to return Mr. Peach' s check until a definite decision was made at the December meeting of the council. The question of condemnation proceedings on the building located at the N. W. corner of 96th St. and N . E. 2nd Ave. was discussed and the village attorney was instructed to report on the legal possibilities of the case. The council then asked councilman Goll to make a survey of the building ,to determine its condition as to structure and safety. On motion of Mr. Goll, seconded by Mr. Carlisle, the contract with Florida Power & Light Co, covering additional street lighting for the village was approved. The village attorney made a report concerning the allotment due the village from the Stgte and County Road Fund which had not yet been received and he was requested to go before the County Commission and make demand for these funds . On motion of Mr. Carlisle, seconded by Mr. Lindsey, approval was given for the payment of an additional $250.00 fee for services in connection with the 1932 foreclosure suit.
